About me
Hi!
My name is Andrew Gibler and I am the person behind this Japanese language learning course.
I am a language enthusiast and polyglot from Missouri (USA), who currently lives in Japan.
Though I did not speak Japanese at all when I arrived in Japan in 2008, I could study my way into passing the N2 JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in 2 years only.
After working as Freelance Translator, Interpreter in English and Japanese Teacher, I joined a real estate company as an International Department Specialist, to perform as a realtor to non-Japanese residents in Hiroshima, helping them find their new home and start a new chapter to their life in Japan.
I also represented the publicity department, appearing on television introducing apartments and the city itself.
I am featured here on ワタシが日本に住む理由 ("The reason I live in Japan") program on BS TV Tokyo, talking to Japanese star actor Katsunori Takahashi about my life in Japan and helping foreigners find apartments.
My passion for languages, my taste for teaching, my own experience of learning Japanese, and the media skills I acquired in the advertising department have given me the idea to embark on the ComedyJapanese™ adventure.
About ComedyJapanese™
ComedyJapanese™ is the place where English speakers can learn Japanese through comedy stories.
The idea came from my personal experience in studying Japanese.
I immersed myself in the Japanese language and watched tons of Japanese dramas, up to the point I could study my way into passing the N2 JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in 2 years only!
